Giving the Camp
Experience In 1988, a group of individuals who attended Camp Thunderbird for Boys in its first season created the Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation. They understood, personally, the value of a camp experience and wanted to "pay it forward." Nearly three decades later, and with the help of generous donations, hundreds of underprivileged children have been able to attend Camp Thunderbird and other camps around the country.
In 2015, the "Speedy and Honey Altman Memorial Camp Foundation" became the "Camp Thunderbird Charitable Foundation." New name. Same mission. Our goal is still to send as many kids to summer camp as possible. And we still need you to make it happen. If you loved camp and want to help, please give now. |
Mission Statement
To make it possible for more children to attend summer camp by providing financial assistance to not-for-profit camps to enable them to provide positive experiences for their campers, and by subsidizing camp tuition for Camp Thunderbird campers who otherwise would not have the means to attend camp.
